It all began in 2008, during the tumultuous global financial crisis, when Alastair, then a dedicated project manager and engineer, faced an unexpected setback: redundancy. As the primary breadwinner for his family, the pressure was on to secure a stable income. While it was a humbling shift from his prestigious role, Alastair turned to cleaning services, discovering not just a way to support his family, but also a newfound passion for the industry. Fast forward to 2016, when Tara entered Alastair's life. Working as a social worker, she recognized Alastair's determination and vision for his cleaning business. Together, they forged a partnership that would prove invaluable. With Tara's support and keen insights, the business began to grow, adapting and evolving to meet the needs of their clients. In 2019, just before the world was turned upside down by the COVID-19 pandemic, Tara stepped into an active management role. The timing couldn't have been better, as the demand for cleaning services surged to unprecedented levels. Today, Benchmark Cleaning stands as a testament to their hard work, dedication, and adaptability in the face of challenges.
